CAT Percentile Predictor

Predict your CAT percentile and discover MBA college options based on your sectional scores. Our advanced algorithm helps you understand admission chances and plan your MBA journey with confidence. All calculations are performed locally on your device for complete privacy.

How CAT Percentile Prediction Works

CAT (Common Admission Test) percentile indicates the percentage of candidates who scored less than you. The percentile is calculated based on your total score out of 300 marks (100 marks each for VA & RC, DILR, and QA sections). Our predictor uses historical data and statistical analysis to estimate your expected percentile. Higher percentiles typically result in better college options, which determine your eligibility for various IIMs and other prestigious B-schools across India.

Quick Tips

Higher Percentile = Better Options

A higher CAT percentile means you scored better than more candidates, opening doors to top IIMs and B-schools.

Sectional Balance Matters

Many top IIMs consider sectional percentiles. Aim for balanced scores across all three sections.

Getting started

How to use the percentile predictor

Enter score inputs, then review percentile band and shortlist.

1. Enter your score(s)

Use your best estimate or official scaled score.

2. Review overall + sectionals

Sectional cutoffs can matter for calls.

3. Build a balanced shortlist

Use the output to shortlist, then verify with institute criteria.

Understanding

What affects CAT percentile and calls

Why estimates and cutoffs move.

Normalization and scaling

CAT scores are normalized across slots. Percentile estimates can shift based on scaling details.

Sectional performance

Percentile is affected by overall and sectional scores; many institutes have sectional cutoffs too.

Year-to-year competition

Candidate count and performance distribution change each year, moving percentile mapping.

Institute-specific cutoffs

Calls depend on category, academics, work experience, and institute criteria beyond CAT percentile alone.

Heads up

Common pitfalls

Treating it as a final percentile

Use this as a planning estimate. Official percentiles depend on the final normalization and results.

Ignoring sectionals

A strong overall percentile can still miss a sectional cutoff. Check both.

Assuming a call equals conversion

Shortlists and final admits depend on multiple stages (WAT/PI), profiles, and criteria.

Using only one year of cutoffs

Cutoffs and call patterns change. Compare multiple years and keep backup targets.
