GATE Rank Predictor

Predict your GATE rank and postgraduate college options based on your score and subject. Our advanced algorithm helps you understand admission chances and plan your postgraduate journey with confidence. All calculations are performed locally on your device for complete privacy.

How GATE Rank Prediction Works

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a national-level examination for admission to postgraduate programs in engineering, technology, and architecture. The rank is calculated based on your GATE score out of 100 marks. Our predictor uses historical data and statistical analysis to estimate your expected rank. Higher scores typically result in better ranks, which determine your eligibility for various postgraduate programs at IITs, NITs, IISc, and other prestigious institutions.

Understanding

What affects GATE rank and admissions

Why estimates can differ and why cutoffs move.

Paper and discipline

Rank distributions differ by paper/discipline. Always select the correct subject/paper.

Score normalization

For some papers, normalized score and scaling can influence rank mapping.

Cutoffs change each year

Competition and seat availability can shift closing ranks even at similar scores.

Admission rules vary by institute

PSUs, IITs, NITs and other institutes can have different eligibility, rounds, and weights.

Heads up

Common pitfalls

Wrong paper selection

If you choose the wrong discipline/paper, the rank band can be misleading.

Treating the college list as final

Use it for shortlisting and planning. Verify with official institute cutoffs and admission rules.

Ignoring category/reservation context

Cutoffs and options vary by category and institute policies.

Overlooking non-rank criteria

Some admissions include interviews or additional criteria. Rank alone may not decide the outcome.
